Taozishu Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Taozishu of Yunxian Village in Simao Country, Yunnan. It was named by Xiong Jiayong and Liu Shirong in 1983. Original Taozishu Formation is a set of clastic rocks distributed in Simao area, Yunnan, between the upper Triassic Weiyuanjiang Formation and the Dapingzhang Formation. The formation was established based on merging the coarse clastic rocks of the upper Weiyuanjiang Fm and the clastic rocks of lower Dapingzhang Fm (5~9 beds of Heping Village section, Jinggu County).
Synonym: Taozicun Fm (spelling)
Lithology and Thickness

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Taozishu Fm is conformable in contact to underlying Yuanjiang Fm of upper Triassic.
Upper contact
It is conformable in contact to overlying Dapingzhang Fm of upper Triassic.
Regional extent
The formation is mainly distributed at Jinggu and Simao in Yunnan. The lithology and thickness are basically stable. From Simao peach tree to Jinggu and Pingxiang in the north and to Pu'er Dehua in the east, the lithology is obviously coarsening. The thickness of the named section is the smallest, which is 264.5 m, and it thickens to the north and east.
